Atwood, raised in Arco, ID and son of Steven B. and Colette Atwood, completed his undergraduate education in biology at BYU-Idaho and Idaho State University where he received academic achievements, being placed on the Deans List. He graduated Dental School from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
